Confused about whether cycling is worth it? Are you in search of inspiration? Look no further as we bring you the biggest names in the game and why they’ve made the cut:

    Lance Armstrong

He is a household name in several countries as he beat cancer and won seven consecutive Tour de France races. He was an inspiration to many. However, the American’s titles were revoked after it was discovered that he took performance-enhancement drugs.

    Gino Bartali

Bartali won the Tour de France twice. But did you know Bartali is an even greater inspiration for his work during World War II? He rescued oppressed Jews and even carried secret documents to the Italian resistance while pretending to practice his cycling!

    Marianne Vos

Vos entered the limelight after winning the Giro Rosa thrice and securing wins in twenty different stages. She also holds Olympic gold medals and three world championships.

    Sreedhar Savanur

Considered one of India’s best sprinters, Savanur possesses nine gold, five silver and six bronze medals. He also represented his country at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. In 2013, he was awarded the Eklavya Award by the Karnataka government.

    Deborah Harold

Harold made history by becoming the first Indian female cyclist to rank #4 in the World Elite UCI Women Ranking. Representing India in Taiwan, she bagged five medals in 2015, right after winning four gold medals in one of Asia’s biggest competitions in 2014.

What’s more, even your favourite Bollywood celebrities enjoy cycling – including Ranbir Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. Maybe it’s time you get a cycle as well!
