If I answer it by saying stop using mobile phones, no one would do it. So here is the plan B with some tips to avoid eye damage:

    • Use a good anti-glare screen cover

    • Consider using blue-light filter

    • Use strain protective glasses while using mobile

    • Limit the usage to some extent

    • Always take a break after 15 minutes. Avoid using the phone continuously

    • Don’t use the mobile phone in dark places as it stresses them out heavily

    • Avoid using mobiles during the night

I cannot avoid mobile screens at all as my work depends on them. But I have learned the ways to help avoid stress. Some of the better things I found out are:

    • Using spectacles with far distance vision should never be used for mobile phones

    • Keeping the light tone of the mobile screen warm or more yellowish and less bluish helps reduce the stress

    • Using Bluetooth devices such as smartwatches or headsets can reduce the screen time

    • Good phones have good screens and impose less stress on our eyes. Use phones having an AMOLED display and not an IPS display

    • Good resolution can also help reduce eye stress

    • Always turn the brightness to a minimum during the night

    • Stop using mobile phones as soon as you wake up

Recently I have adapted to using social media applications on my laptop instead of my Smartphone. This has given my eyes so much relief. You can use WhatsApp, telegram, Instagram messaging, and Facebook on the laptop.
